5 lessons to learn from the game 2048 - Success has no limits

Have you ever played 2048?

It's an interesting mobile game and I get de-stressed whenever I play it.

Do you know where it starts from? It starts with 2. Just a unit digit. You start with 2 and gradually reach 1024, 2048, 4096, 8192, 16384, and so on.

This is how the whole world and the whole universe operate. Building something big from a simple atom. So, if today you are just a nobody, you need to put the blocks of effort one by one and make yourself a somebody.

Success is not an overnight phenomenon. It is a result of consistent effort, determination, and perseverance. Just like the game 2048, where you start with a single block and gradually merge them to create bigger numbers, the journey towards success begins with small steps.

Every great accomplishment begins with a simple idea or a small action. Think about some of the most successful people in history. They all started from humble beginnings. They had a vision, a dream, and the willingness to work hard to turn that dream into a reality.

Take the example of Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple Inc. He started his journey in a garage, with just a few computer parts and a vision to revolutionize the tech industry. Through his relentless pursuit of excellence and innovation, he transformed Apple into one of the most valuable companies in the world.

Similarly, Oprah Winfrey, one of the most influential media personalities, began her career as a local news anchor. With her determination and passion for storytelling, she built her own media empire and became a household name.

These success stories remind us that greatness is not limited to a select few. It is within the reach of anyone who is willing to put in the effort and take small steps towards their goals.

So, how can you start building your path to success?

1. Set Clear Goals

Success begins with a clear vision of what you want to achieve. Set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals. Write them down and regularly review your progress. This will help you stay focused and motivated. Maintain a journal of your day-to-day activities. It will help you be goal-oriented. At the end of the day, sit with your journal and remember how many steps you have taken today to reach closer to your goals.

When I started playing it, I thought I wanted to achieve the goal of reaching 2048. But when I reached it, I saw a possibility of growing bigger. Turning 2048 in 4096. That was the biggest achievement in the game then but when I accomplished even that, I wanted to double it up again and make it 8192 and this goes on and on and on. This is all about goal setting. Once you reach a previously created goal, you want to set the standards higher/ make your goal bigger.

Have a bigger vision. Start with smaller goals, reach them, and prepare yourself for the next bigger goal.

2. Take Action

Once you have set your goals, the next step is to take action. Start with small, manageable tasks that will move you closer to your objectives and also will help you keep your confidence.

Remember, every step, no matter how small, counts. Take that first step, and then keep building momentum. As in the game 2048, every 2+2 matters. The whole game is about merging unit numbers and creating several-digit numbers. Starting small doesn't mean ending small. It means that you are at least starting today. The path will ultimately be created.

3. Learn and Grow

Success is not just about achieving goals; it is also about personal growth. Continuously seek opportunities to learn and develop new skills. Read books, attend seminars, and surround yourself with people who inspire and challenge you.

Do not become a know-it-all leader. Become a learn-it-all leader. Keep the cup of your eagerness for knowledge half empty always so that you remain motivated to learn new things and that is what will help you reach new heights.

4. Embrace Failure

Failure is a natural part of the journey towards success. Do not be afraid of making mistakes or facing setbacks. Instead, view them as opportunities to learn, adapt, and grow.

I became stuck at 4096. Tried again. This time was able to double it up to 8192. Got stuck. Tried again. Again doubled it up to 16384 and again I am currently at 32768 and still trying. It all started with a simple 2 and every time every try helped me achieve a bigger number. After bigger failures I thought of deleting the game but had I deleted the game fearing bigger failures, I would have never known, how big the number I could achieve.

Remember, every successful person has encountered failures along the way.

5. Stay Persistent

Success rarely comes easy. It requires persistence and the ability to stay committed even when faced with obstacles. Keep pushing forward, even when the going gets tough. Remember, every small step you take brings you closer to your goals.

Just like in the game 2048, where each merge brings you closer to the ultimate goal of reaching 2048 and beyond, success is a series of small victories that eventually lead to significant achievements.

So, if you are feeling like a nobody today, remember that greatness starts with small beginnings. Embrace the journey, put the blocks of success one by one, and watch yourself transform into somebody.
